Research theme

We are conducting research on oxidative stress-induced kidney-related diseases, including 1) biomarker discovery and its
clinical application, and 2) elucidating pathophysiology and developing treatment strategies. Regarding biomarkers, we are
conducting clinical trials centered on albuminomics (comprehensive albumin post-translational modification analysis) using LC-MS. In addition, using LC-MS, GC-MS and bioinformatics, we are searching for lipid molecular species
involved in disease progression and analyzing new therapeutic targets. We are also conducting research on the development of
DDS using albumin, the elucidation of pathophysiological role of an acute phase protein orosomucoid and its application as a
therapeutic agent.
