Research theme
The goal of our study is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying aging and the development of various diseases and develop novel therapeutic strategies against them. For this purpose, we focus on chronic inflammation, mitochondrial homeostasis, and maintenance of homeostasis and conduct following research projects.
- Elucidating the molecular basis for aging and the development of age-related diseases (lifestyle disease and cancer).
- Elucidating the mechanisms by which mitochondrial homeostasis impacts the hierarchy of cellular senescence, organ dysfunction, and individual aging phenotypes.
- Elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying the maintenance of homeostasis and the development various diseases caused by breakdown of the homeostatic mechanisms.
- Analysis of the association between circulating ANGPTL level and physiology or pathology.
