Our department treats patients with ischemic heart disease, heart failure, valvular heart diseases, arrhythmia and Vascular diseases, like hypertension, peripheral artery diseare, deep vein thrombosis/pulmonary thrombosis/pulmonary thromboembolism and aortic dissection. Always we introduce latest highly advanced medical treatments and serve them to patients in Kumamoto.

Cutting edge clinical researches are mainly performed abroad, however, sometime they do not fit Japanese patients because of their unique clinical characteristics. To adjust this discrepancy, we perform clinical researches in all cardiovascular fields and try to find novel therapeutic strategies for Japanese people. In basic research field, we keep several genetically engineered mice and also make many types of cardiovascular murine models in our own laboratory. Combined usage of these resources and techniques allows us to find unknown mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases.
