Research theme

Our department is composed of otology, rhinology, laryngology, head and neck surgery, thyroidology, skull base surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery. These field consist of hearing function, vestibular function, smell and taste, upper airway function from nose to trachea and swallowing function from oral cavity to esophagus, and the age of patients are infant to the aged. Our research varies from clarification of the process and the mechanism of head and neck cancer, development of new diagnostic methods, regeneration of the cochlear hair cells, to swallowing and voice function.
