Diagnostic imaging plays an very important role for patients'management. Diagnostic imaging includes various radiological modalities including plain radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, angiography and endoscopy. The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the Kumamoto Univ. Postgraduate School is a highly specialized department which strives to perform clinical and basic studies in every field of diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive image-guided therapy, so called interventional radiology. Kumamoto University is recognized as a world leader in radiological
research in the filed of abdominal and neuroradiology. We have recently introduced a unit combining CT and SPECT We are now incorporating functional information on morphologic information derived from CT or MR data.
