Our department, based in the Faculty of Life Sciences at Kumamoto University, is committed to cultivating medical professionals who will play active roles from Kumamoto to the world, with a particular focus on education in anatomy and developmental biology.

In research, we build on a foundation of developmental biology and morphology, while actively integrating perspectives from metabolism, molecular biology, and related fields. Through this interdisciplinary approach, we aim to pursue original research that is unique to our department.
