Associate Professor Arima Participates as One of the Organizers of the 41st Kumamoto Medical and Biological Science Symposium

Associate Professor Arima is participating as one of the organizers of The 41st Kumamoto Medical and Biological Science Symposium (hosted by the International Research Center for Medical Sciences (IRCMS) at Kumamoto University), held over three days from today.

This year’s symposium is themed “Hemovascular system throughout life”, focusing on how the hematopoietic and vascular systems function from development through immune responses, aging, and disease. Over the course of the three days, researchers are expected to deepen discussions and develop a shared language in the emerging field of hemovascular biology.

At the opening session, Associate Professor Arima delivered the welcome remarks. He expressed his hopes for active discussions on a wide range of topics—including clonal hematopoiesis, inflammatory memory, and tissue‑specific vascular specialization—and encouraged students and postdoctoral researchers to actively participate in the poster sessions to foster scientific exchange.

In the first session, themed “Development”, Associate Professor Arima also served as the session chair, where four researchers presented their work.

The symposium will continue until the morning of Wednesday, May 20.
