Research theme

Department of Medical Imaging Physics is engaged in the development of quantitative analysis and artificial intelligence using medical images; radiation measurement in radiation diagnosis and radiotherapy and the theoretical and technical development of dosimetry and radiotherapy. For analysis using medical imaging, biological models are constructed from physical information extracted from images such as MRI, and new imaging biomarkers are developed. For radiation measurement in radiation diagnosis and radiotherapy, we develop an absorbed dose measurement method based on the cobalt water absorbed dose to water calibration factor which can be used for all modalities. Our research in the department aims to generate new knowledge based on experience and theory through simulations based on mathematics and physics.
