This is information regarding the AY 2025 Research Internship.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

1. Qualifications of Applicants<\/h3>\r\n

\u30fbPersons who wish to enter Graduate school of Medical Sciences Kumamoto University later<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbUndergraduate students and graduate students who are enrolled at universities\/colleges outside Japan, or work outside Japan<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbPersons who are interested in research of medical and life sciences<\/p>\r\n

2. Number of Intern<\/h3>\r\n

\u3000approximately 2 persons<\/p>\r\n

3. Internship Period<\/h3>\r\n

\u00a0About 2 to 4 weeks between August 1, 2025 and February 28, 2026<\/p>\r\n

* Internships program of longer than 4 weeks are also available. Please consult with the host supervisor about the internship period.<\/p>\r\n

* Applicants who have already been accepted as a 2025 Graduate School of Medicine internship student and who will begin their internship on or after April 1, 2025, may apply for support under this program.<\/p>\r\n

4. Internship Program<\/h3>\r\n

Graduate school of Medical Sciences and host laboratory decide on the program content based on the application details.<\/p>\r\n

5. Internship Fee and Scholarship Allowance<\/h3>\r\n

\u30fbInternship fee: Free<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbScholarship allowance: Up to 200,000 yen per student
\r\n\u3000Actual costs of air fare and accommodation (up to 10,000 yen per night).<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbScholarship will be paid by telegraphic transfer to applicant\u2019s bank account of his\/her home country after internship program completes.<\/p>\r\n

* The scholarship for the program is not granted to students who have already received other scholarships or research subsidies with the aim of supporting their activities at Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kumamoto University.<\/p>\r\n

* If applicants wish to attend the internship program with your own expenses or other scholarships, please let us know.<\/p>\r\n

6. Application Procedures<\/h3>\r\n

(1) Required Documents<\/p>\r\n

\u30001) Application form(Form1)<\/em><\/a><\/p>\r\n

\u30002) A letter of recommendation from a professor or research supervisor who can evaluate the applicant\u2019s ability in study and research<\/p>\r\n

\u30003) An academic transcript of the applicant\u2019s current university or final academic transcript<\/p>\r\n

\u30004) An English Proficiency test score (TOEIC or TOEFL etc.)

(2) Application Deadline<\/p>\r\n

June 27, 2025 (Fri)<\/span>

(3) Place to submit documents<\/p>\r\n

Required documents must be submitted to the Student Affairs Office of the Graduate School of Medical Sciences by the host supervisor.<\/p>\r\n

7. Selection Procedures<\/h3>\r\n

\u00a0The screening committee selects internship students based on documents submitted.<\/p>\r\n

8. Announcement of Results<\/h3>\r\n

Late July, 2025<\/p>\r\n

9. Internship student\u2019s obligation<\/h3>\r\n

\u30fbInternship student must obtain a visa to enter Japan<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbInternship student must reserve air tickets and accommodation for the program by himself\/herself.<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbInternship student must submit a report when the internship program complete.<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbIf an internship student loses or damages the facilities, machines, or equipment of the University due to intentionally or gross negligence during the internship period, he\/she shall promptly restore or compensate for the damage.<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbInternship students must buy a travel insurance by himself\/herself.<\/p>\r\n

\u30fbInternship student must follow these application guidelines, the rules of Kumamoto University and host supervisor\u2019s instructions.<\/p>\r\n

10. Other<\/h3>\r\n

A certificate of completion will be issued after internship program completes.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a0*Only the credits of the regular courses shall be counted. The credits as a research student nor of\u00a0 a Japanese language school cannot be counted for grades.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a0*For working adult students, grades of the last education shall be calculated. For other students, grades of their current school shall be calculated.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

(Note 1) If your course is not a credit system, replace the number of credits in the index formula with the number of courses taken.<\/p>\r\n

(Note 2) If you are a transfer student, use the number of credits after the transfer.<\/p>\r\n

(Note 3) Any descriptions of grades other than those in the table above (such as \u201cqualified\u201d, \u201cpass\u201d, etc.) are not applicable for the calculation.<\/p>\r\n

(Note 4) Round down to the 2nd digit from the decimal point, if the calculated GPA has a fraction.<\/p>\r\n
