Airport and Rail-way
The International Airport of Kumamoto is located in the east with 60 km distance and the limousine buss will bring you almost directly to the center of Kumamoto City.  The buss stop is Toorichyousuji after 40-50 min drive.  The other entry to Kumamoto is by the rail-way (JR Kyushyu).  You will be able to fly to Fukuoka Airport, which is about 100 km north of Kumamoto, from the hub airports of Japan, either Narita International Airport, Haneda Tokyo Internatiuonal Airport, Chubu-Nagoya International Airport, or Osaka Kansai Airport.  From Fukuoka International Airport, you can either get on a limousine bus or get on a rail-way route to Hakata Terminal of JR Kyusyu.  From Hakata Termianl Station, the express train called Tsubame will drive you to Kumamoto JR station in 75 min.   

Airport Pick-up
For the invited speakers, especially from abroad, the congress staff will pick you up at Kumamoto Airport on your desire.  The congress staff will be waiting for you according to the information you provided.

Letter of Invitation & Visa requirement

International delegates are encouraged to check with their local travel agency regarding any visa requirements for entering Japan. If a participant needs a letter of invitation to attend the congress, please request it from the congress secretariat. This invitation, however, does NOT imply any financial commitment. 

Call for Abstracts & Education Workshop Announcement 

The congress Scientific Committee invites the submission of original contributions for presentation at the congress.  The abstract should be received (postmarked) by congress secretariat no later than August .31, 2006. The submission of the abstract implies your consent to publish it in the Abstract Book.

2.	By airmail

  Useful Information in Kumamoto

Climate and Clothing
October is the golden season in Kumamoto, with an average temperature of 22°C. A Sweater for the evening and a warmer jacket may be necessary in the mountain-side tour.  

Currency and Exchange
Major credit cards are widely accepted in large department stores and hotels but not in local stores and markets. Major foreign currencies can be changed at the airport, hotels or the Bank of Japan with a floating exchange rate. 

Electricity
The Voltage is 100 volts AC, 60 cycles in Kumamoto.

Customs
Incoming passengers are allowed to bring with them, under temporary admission, one of each of the items including camera, portable tape-recorder, portable cinecamera, portable video camera and portable computer.  Passengers carrying personal items over this limit should declare accurately to the customs and fulfill all necessary customs formalities.

Room Rate
The rates are on a per room per night basis and are inclusive of breakfast and a 15% hotel service charge, but exclusive of hotel incidentals.  Extra bed and breakfasts are available at additional cost.
