【研究プロジェクト名および概要】
マクロファージは、病原体や外来の異物を貪食し自然免疫の担い 手として活躍するだけでなく、発生段階における組織のリモデリング や特異免疫の成立にも重要な役割を果たしています。さらに種々の生理活性物質の産生を通して、様々な疾患の病変形成に深く関わっています。私どもは、種々の炎症性疾患や粥状硬化症ならびに腫瘍の増殖や転移におけるマクロファージの役割を明らかにするため、スカベンジャー受容体をはじめとする機能分子に注目して、病理学的解析を加えています。
While macrophages play an important role in scavenging microorganisms and foreign materials, they are actively involved in the tissue remodeling during the organ development and establishment of acquired immunity. They also are deeply involved in the process of many kinds of diseases by producing various bioactive molecules. 0ur department focuses on the various functional molecules such as scavenger receptors to disclose their roles in various pathological conditions including inflammatory diseases, atherosclerosis and cancer.
