Research theme

TClinical and experimental researches as a surgical oncology in breast and thyroid cancer are conducted in our laboratory. Clinically, we have developed sentinel lymph node biopsy system to avoid the worthless axillary lymph node dissection. Experimentally, we focus on the mechanism analysis of hormone dependent growth via estrogen receptor (ER), including the relationship between hormone responsiveness and ER cofactors or plasma membrane ER. We are also interested in the characteristics of the early breast cancer such as non- or minimum-invasive cancer, including the diagnosis using vacuum-assisted tissue biopsy system and the biological analysis of their characteristics. Furthermore, we positively participate or design the randomized controlled trials for breast cancer treatment and take part in translational research, including the angiogenesis or tissue-hypoxia in breast cancer tissues, and so on.
