Anesthesiology is originally the scientific field that sought for the anesthetics of pain relief during the surgery. Main theme of our department is pain, especially the development of new therapeutic strategy for the neuropathic pain. We examinie the effects of many drugs such as the newly discovered ligands for orphan G-protein coupled receptors, such as GPR7, GPR103, and N-acetyl-aspartyl-glutamate (NAAG) peptidase inhibitor on animal neuropathic pain models. In the clinical study, we target on the development of new strategy of amelioration of postoperative pain and neuropathic pain. We are also clinically investigating the role of central, peripheral and autonomic nervous system on protection from surgical invasion.
Stereotactically introduced cannula into rat PAG. We administer drugs into PAG, LC and RVM with stereotactic technique.
