Our aim is to clarify the mechanism of respiratory disease and establish novel treatment, trough translational research. The projects of our research are as follows:
- Anti-tumor immune response induced by cancer associated fibroblasts (CAF) and development of new immunotherapy for lung adenocarcinoma.
- Development of a new lung cancer therapy targeting gut microbiome.
- Clinical study on the epidemiology and fibrotic process of interstitial lung abnormality (ILA) detected in a health screening cohort (Kumamoto ILA study in Japan, KILA-J)
- Study of the relationship between the lung fibrotic process and the gut-lung axis
- Research to elucidate the pathogenesis of connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung diseases and rare lung diseases and to develop new treatments
- Elucidation of the mechanism of biologics response to mucus plugs in severe asthma.
- Research on clinical profile and background factors for achieving clinical remission of severe asthma with biologic therapy.
- Elucidation of a novel homeostatic mechanism by anti-cytokine anto-antibody analysis.
- Elucidation of the host immune response in disseminated and pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease.
- Elucidation of the functional role of the vascular niche in the lung repair response.
